BusinessGreen debuted as a blog in 2006, ahead of its full launch in autumn 2007. Since then, the brand has established itself as Europe’s leading green business media platform, providing news, analysis, and opinion to help support and accelerate the transition towards a net zero emission economy.
Over the past 15 years, the brand has continued to pursue its mission to inform, inspire, and connect the green economy. It has done this through a mix of daily online news, in-depth analysis, cutting-edge opinion, broadcast content, social media presence, in-person events and conferences, and the UK’s most prestigious green business awards programme, all of which has helped build one of the largest and most influential communities of green professionals in the world.
One of the first spin-offs from the BusinessGreen brand was the BusinessGreen Leaders Awards, which launched in 2010 and for 12 years celebrated the very best of the green business community, bringing together politicians, business leaders, sustainability executives, investors, and campaigners to showcase the many innovative projects that are driving the transition towards a more sustainable economy.
It was joined in 2016 by the BusinessGreen member community, which provides subscribers with in-depth analysis, opinion, and dedicated events to help them navigate the many challenges and opportunities presented by the rapid expansion of the green economy.
And then in 2020 we launched the Net Zero Festival, providing the world’s first business festival dedicated to the net zero transition that promises to transform the global economy over the coming decades.
The UK Green Business Awards will build on this heritage by providing a unique opportunity to highlight the many ways in which the green economy is at the heart of modern Britain and is absolutely core to the country’s future prospects. The revamped awards programme will reach an ever-wider and more influential audience, offering businesses the chance to showcase how they are delivering on their green goals and boosting the UK’s competitiveness in the process.
We look forward to you joining us on the next 15 years of the green economy’s journey.
